Samhain has come and gone, I hope you enjoyed the festivities.
But Samhain is not just all about one day , or one night on October 31st, it is, for some of us, the beginning of a ‘New Year’.
The Wheel of the Year is a cycle of seasonal festivals marking the year’s chief solar events (solstices and equinoxes) and the midpoints between them.
Many of these festivals are named after Pagan Gods or Goddesses, for example the triple Goddess Brigid is revered and celebrated at Imbolc and the God Lugh is remembered at the autumnal festival of Lughnasadh.
However, Samhain is mostly known for the time of year when we celebrate and remember our ancestors and those loved ones who have departed.
In the Pagan belief system we believe this dark cycle of the year is about both endings and beginnings, much as we celebrate New Year on December 31st, as a new calendar year begins in January.
Divination is important and highlighted at Samhain, and even though we have passed the date, we are still embarking on a journey from darkness into light as we approach Yule and the Wheel turns once again to lightness and all that Spring has to offer.
With all this in mind, this IS, a perfect time for a Tarot Reading, no matter what your belief system or questions.
